Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains how Central Signs, operated by Astros Marketing (Pty) Ltd, collects and uses personal information when you contact us, request a quotation, or use our services. It is written in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) and applies to enquiries from Bloemfontein, Mangaung and surrounding areas.

Who We Are and What This Policy Covers

Central Signs is a Bloemfontein sign maker based in Hamilton, Bloemfontein, serving businesses and organisations in Mangaung, Botshabelo, Thaba Nchu, Welkom, Kroonstad, Brandfort and Winburg. We produce shop signs, banners, decals, vehicle graphics, labels and exhibition displays for windows, walls, doors and floors.

This policy applies to personal information we receive through our enquiry form, quotation requests, site surveys, artwork approvals, installation bookings and maintenance visits. It also covers information shared during normal client communication with our team, including Marius Jacobus van Rensburg and our production, design, installation and client support staff.

Information We Collect From You

We only collect information that is reasonably needed to handle your request, prepare signage, and complete the work properly. This may include contact details, company details, delivery and installation addresses, invoice details, vehicle registration information where vehicle graphics are involved, and any artwork or wording you send us.

  • Name, business name and job title
  • Contact details and preferred communication method
  • Site addresses, access notes and installation requirements
  • Artwork files, logos, brand wording and colour references
  • Billing information and quotation history

In some cases, we may also record notes about municipal rules, access limits, or weather and power related scheduling concerns, especially for outdoor signs and vehicle application work.

How We Use Personal Information

We use your information to respond to enquiries, prepare quotations, create artwork, manufacture signs, arrange installation and carry out after sales support. We may also use it to keep proper records, manage accounts, handle maintenance requests and meet legal or tax obligations.

We do not use your personal information for purposes that are unrelated to your request unless we are allowed to do so by law or you have given consent. Any artwork, layouts or files supplied by you are used only for the job concerned, unless otherwise agreed.

  • To contact you about your order or enquiry
  • To prepare and amend quotations and invoices

When We Share Information

We keep your information confidential and only share it where necessary for the work or where the law requires it. This may include sharing limited information with staff members who need it to complete their duties, or with trusted service providers who assist with printing, fabrication, transport, or payment processing.

Where information is shared, we expect the recipient to protect it and to use it only for the agreed purpose. We do not sell personal information.

  • With staff involved in design, production, installation and client coordination
  • With suppliers who assist in fulfilling your order
  • With professional advisers, auditors or authorities if required by law

Storage, Security and Retention

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from loss, unauthorised access, alteration or misuse. This includes access control, careful file handling and limited use of information on a need to know basis. While no system is completely risk free, we apply practical safeguards suited to the type of work we do.

Records are kept only for as long as needed for the purpose collected, or as required by law. This can include quotation records, invoice records, approved artwork and job notes. We may keep some records longer where there is a legal, accounting or dispute related reason.

Your Rights Under POPIA

You have rights regarding the personal information we hold about you. Subject to legal limits, you may ask us to confirm whether we hold your information, request access to it, ask for corrections, or object to certain processing.
