Wall Graphics

Wall graphics are a practical way to turn plain interior walls into clear branding, wayfinding, learning spaces or sales areas. Central Signs supplies and fits wall graphics in Bloemfontein, Mangaung, Botshabelo, Thaba Nchu, Welkom and Kroonstad.

What wall graphics are and where they work

Wall graphics are printed or cut vinyl graphics applied directly to painted plasterboard, sealed concrete, glass partitions, melamine panels and other smooth interior surfaces. They are used for logos, room names, motivational artwork, safety messages, school values, clinic direction signs and retail promotions. In Bloemfontein offices and schools, they are a neat way to brand space without taking up floor area.

For most indoor spaces, the choice comes down to finish and how long the graphic must stay up. Short-term promos can use removable film, while reception branding and school signage usually calls for a longer-life adhesive with laminate. We also supply frosted effects for privacy on windows and internal glass, which helps in clinics, consulting rooms and meeting areas.

Size options, finishes and material choices

Wall graphics can be made as a small logo panel, a single feature wall or a full room wrap. Common sizes range from 300 x 300 mm plaques and directional graphics up to full walls of 10 metres or more, depending on the surface and access. If the wall has joins, plugs, light switches or fire equipment, the artwork is planned around those points before printing.

  • Printed vinyl for full-colour images, text and logos
  • Cut vinyl for one-colour names, quotes and wayfinding
  • Matte laminate for low glare in offices and classrooms
  • Frosted film for privacy on glass and partitions
  • Removable adhesive for campaigns and seasonal use

For gyms and retail stores, matte finishes are often best because they cut reflection from strip lights. On smoother painted walls, a good quality film sits well and looks cleaner than painted lettering. On textured walls, a test area is wise, because some surfaces need a different film or a more limited graphic size.

Best uses for offices, schools, gyms and clinics

Interior wall branding is useful anywhere people need direction, reassurance or a stronger sense of place. In offices, it can show reception branding, department names and values. In schools it helps with classroom labels, house names, library walls and corridors. In gyms it carries class schedules, safety notes and motivational wording. Clinics often use it for room identification, waiting-room messages and privacy screens.

Retail spaces use wall graphics for promotions, new product areas and seasonal displays. They also work well in back-of-house areas for compliance notices, stockroom labels and staff guidance. A well placed wall graphic can do the work of several small signs, which keeps the place tidier and easier to read.

  • Reception and foyer branding
  • Classroom and corridor labelling
  • Consulting room and treatment room IDs
  • Retail promotion walls and product zones
  • Health and safety notices

Installation on site in Bloemfontein and surrounds

Most wall graphics are installed indoors with no power or gas needs. The main requirement is a clean, dry and fully cured surface. Fresh paint should be left to cure properly before application, especially in winter when dry times can be slower. We check for dust, loose paint, damp spots and uneven plaster before fitment, because these issues can affect adhesion and finish.

Installation time depends on size and complexity. A small logo panel may take less than an hour, while a full feature wall can take most of a day. For schools, clinics and active offices, we can schedule work after hours or over a quiet period to avoid disruption. If the wall is high or awkward to reach, access equipment may be needed, and we will say so during the site check. Johan and the installation team handle fitting carefully so corners, seams and edges line up properly, with no bubbling or lift at the edges.

Care, cleaning and servicing after fitment

Wall graphics need only light care. A soft dry cloth or a slightly damp cloth is usually enough for dust and marks. Avoid scouring pads, strong solvents and rough cleaning tools, because they can dull the laminate or lift the print. In schools and gyms, where walls are cleaned more often, we generally recommend a harder wearing laminate to keep the graphic looking good for longer.

If the graphic is damaged by furniture, tape, repeated cleaning or moisture, we can inspect it and advise on repair or replacement. For larger sites in Bloemfontein, Mangaung or Welkom, maintenance visits can be arranged for ongoing branding across multiple rooms. This is useful when logos change, rooms get renamed or a section of wall needs re-doing after painting.

What to check before you order wall graphics

Good wall graphics start with correct measurements and a clear idea of where the sign must sit. If you are ordering for a corridor, classroom or waiting room, check the viewing distance, wall height and whether the graphic must be read from one side or both. It also helps to know the wall colour, paint finish and whether the space is humid, dusty or cleaned with chemical products.

  • Exact wall measurements in millimetres or metres
  • Type of surface, such as painted wall, glass or panel
  • Whether the artwork is permanent or removable
  • Any switches, frames, doors or fittings nearby
  • Preferred finish: matte, gloss or frosted
  • Whether installation must happen after hours or on a school holiday

If you already have artwork, we can prepare it for print. If not, we can assist with logo redraws and artwork setup so the final result is clean and readable. For best results, send clear photos of the wall and a rough measure with your enquiry form details. That gives us a proper starting point and avoids surprises on the day of fitment.

Questions we get asked

Can wall graphics be removed later?

Yes. Removable films can be lifted cleanly when they are used on suitable surfaces. Permanent films are also removable, but may need more care and a bit of heat during take-down.

Do you need to inspect the wall before printing?

For larger or long-life jobs, a site survey is best. It lets us check the wall finish, measure properly and confirm if the surface is suitable for the chosen film.

Will wall graphics work on textured walls?

Sometimes, but not always. Very rough or dusty walls can reduce adhesion and may need a different approach. A test area helps us see what will hold properly.
